PROFILE

Brian Mason Technology was set up by Dr Brian Mason in 2002 to provide a technology based management consultancy service to the motorcycle industry. Brian is a motorcyclist who has been fortunate enough to have been involved in a large number of motorcycle development projects while working for the engine design consultancy Ricardo. Through Brian Mason Technology, Brian has been able to combine his interest in business strategy with product design knowledge and engineering experience to offer a unique service to the motorcycle industry.

Brian has a BSc in Metallurgy and Mechanical Engineering from UMIST, an MSc in Automotive Product Engineering from Cranfield Institute of Technology, a PhD which involved the design and analysis of a fibre reinforced plastic car engine for Ford from Nottingham University and an MBA from Imperial College . Brian is a chartered Mechanical Engineer with engineering training at British Aerospace and MIRA. Brian is also Technical Director for RCV Engines Ltd and a Director of Ai-Jet.

Before 2002, Brian worked at Ricardo for 12 years covering a range of positions from Heavy Duty Diesel engine design, Motorcycle Chief Engineer and Ricardo Group Business Development Manager for Asia Pacific. During this time Brian ran motorcycle development projects covering engine design, noise reduction and exhaust emissions working for motorcycle manufacturers and component suppliers in Austria, China, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, UK and USA. Brian has authored technical papers and presented at motorcycle technical seminars in China, India, Taiwan and USA.
